The beauty of happiness is that it is not only felt but seen and shared which was the experience we alongside members of the farmer group Nyacana Merber had at the launch of the new village recipients of unconditional cash transfer this past weekend.

Ithungu is a 50 year old farmer from the Kasanga village found in the Western part of the republic of Uganda. Kasanga village is one of the villages under the unconditional cash transfer project that has brought us the fortune of meeting amazing people like her.

In the financial year of 2022/23, agriculture accounted for about 24% of the GDP, and 35% of export earnings. The UBOS (Uganda Bureau of Statistics) estimates that about 68% of Uganda’s working population is employed in agriculture.
